EDF Energy cuts prices for second time
Residential gas and electricity prices have been reduced by EDF Energy for the second time, making it cheaper than British Gas for all major methods of payment.

The 4% price reduction will be effective on March 26th, making the energy supplier the only one to have decreased prices twice in the last six months.

"In these difficult times we are pleased to be able to offer our customers further price reductions," said Martin Lawrence, Managing Director, Energy Sourcing and Customer Supply at EDF Energy.

He stressed that energy customers would be needing all the help they could get following one of the coldest winters of recent times.

A typical gas-only customer will now have seen a minimum of a 6.9% fall in their bills since October 2009.

Other energy suppliers to have reduced costs over recent days include E.ON, First:Utility and Scottish and Southern Energy.
