New energy deals released by some of the big players
A number of new energy deals have been released by some of the biggest players in the industry in the last week.

These include First Utility, who removed the cheapest tariff on the market for a medium user - the iSave 9 - and replaced it with iSave 10.

This is now the most competitive and allows customers to save further, working out at £3 and an average of £1,027 a year less.

The cheapest fixed plan available is the Go Fix 11 deal from npower, which replaced Go Fix 10 and offers energy for £1033 a year, fixed until May 2013.

It does however come with a cancellation charge of £20, which makes Sainsbury's new Online Price Freeze June 2013 tariff worth looking at, as energy can be obtained for £1,058 a year without any cancellation fee.

Further to this, SSE has cut the number of tariffs it offers from 68 to just four in an attempt to make its pricing easier to understand for customers.
