Thames water has written to all of its customers in order to keep them up to date with the drought situation in the area.
The company's head Jeremy Pelczer has composed the letter, which will be sent to 3.5 million households across the south-east.
"I know customers expect to be kept fully informed about what we are doing to beat the drought," the chief executive said.
"Despite the recent rain, the long-term drought remains very serious, so we do need everyone to keep saving water wherever they can, not only to protect the environment, but also to help reduce the potential need for more serious restrictions later in the year."
He also commented on what his company was doing to ease the crisis.
"Our determination to reduce unacceptably high leakage in London is as resolute as ever," he added.
Letters will be sent from May 11th.
A customer hotline has also been set up so that customers can obtain any further information concerning the drought.
