AWG says Anglian Water outlook positive

2 October 2006

AWG has stated that its Anglian Water business has performed above expectations and the company outlook is positive.

The company said that Anglian Water had "performed materially above management's expectations" during first-half trading while the company's non-regulated businesses performed as anticipated.

AWG stated that Anglian Water had benefited from an increase in seasonal demand among its customers while operational efficiency and savings had been boosted also.

The company also announced that despite a second successive dry winter in 2005 and 2006, its overall water resources remained within normal operating limits during the first-half of the year.

AWG said in a statement: "Anglian Water's revenues benefited from increased seasonal demand, which taken together with the impact of operational efficiencies and savings realised from debt refinancing activities, contributed to a strong performance."
