The quality of water in the Renfrewshire region of Scotland could be improved after officials said that money will be pumped into amendments to the system.
Scottish Water announced that £13 million is to be ploughed into the area, which includes £3 million to enhance the status of drinking water, reports the Paisley Daily Express.
Changes are set to take place at water treatment facilities situated at both Howwood and Paisley in the months ahead as part of the deal.
Regional Manager at Scottish Water Paul Maxwell said that the considerations are being undertaken simply so that consumers see the benefits.
"Our customers are already noticing and appreciating clearer, fresher water, cleaner burns and rivers, reduced risk of flooding and a faster, more efficient response to problems," he told the news source.
The same firm recently blamed a water leak for a flood that took place in a hairdressing salon in Leith.
