Homes and motorists were affected in Weymouth this week when a burst water main caused a great deal of disruption.
The emergency services were told to attend the scene at Preston Road, on April 15th, something they said will probably leave the road closed for the time being, reports the Dorset Echo.
Water was pumped from the location by fire services and another support unit based in Gillingham.
Coming after another similar incident in recent times, officials stated that buildings such as a doctor's surgery were caught up in the subsequent flooding.
Fire staff also attempted to help locals in the aftermath of the floods, moving them from their properties.
They were initially alerted to the problem because the alarms at a local telephone exchange were ringing.
In related news, another burst main was witnessed in Timperley, Cheshire, while workers carried out repairs to the road. A large spray of water was washed over Stockport Road.
