Switch with confidence

In the UK you currently cannot switch water and sewerage supplier. What you can do is switch from an unmeasured water bill (you pay a set amount for your water regardless of usage) to a water meter where you pay for the water you use. Switching to a water meter is free – water companies do not charge a customer for installing a meter (there are circumstances when a water company can charge or refuse to fit a meter, dependent on the property location).

Since our water service helps customers see if they would save money on their water bill by switching to a water meter, we do not receive any commission payment for our water service. We offer our water service as a compliment to our other products.

We also allow customers to see if they would save more money by implementing water saving ideas. These are provided directly to the customer from the water company, free of charge – uSwitch does not send out any products to the customer.

We include all tariffs from all water and sewerage companies in England, Scotland and Wales. These are updated annually each April when the companies release their new pricing details.

• could save money by switching to a water meter
• save more money by implementing water saving ideas

A water meter is not right for everyone – some customers may find that it is cheaper to carry on with an unmeasured water bill from their results. If a customer would like to save even more money and water we can show customers water saving devices such as a Hippo.
