Tiscali news

Following Tiscali’s procurement of Pipex, the Sardinian based telecommunications and broadband provider could double the number of its customer base.

Tiscali, who recently bought Pipex’s voice and broadband divisions for £210 million, will reap the benefit of 570,000 new broadband customers and 650,000 new voice customers, all as part of their acquisition of Pipex.

"We will be able to offer our new Pipex customers the full range of Tiscali's compelling and innovative services including broadband, telephone and TV," said the company's chief executive Mary Turner.

She further added that this is a fantastic opportunity for Tiscali to roll out its double and triple play services.

This increase in customers is undoubtedly going to make Tiscali a bigger player in the UK broadband sector, although Tiscali still has to go a long way before it reaches the height of BT, who announced today further growth thus stamping their position as the ISP with the largest market share.

Also BT has recently been named top ISP for technical performance by Epitiro for the fifth quarter running. Tiscali appeared in the latest report showing the top 5 for the first time, appearing third above PlusNet and ironically Pipex.
