The range of broadband enabled phones currently available in the UK is set to be boosted in September.

BenQ's P21, a new Samsung phone and Nokia's 6086 head up a raft of new Wi-Fi and BT Fusion handsets which will be released nationwide during September, Tech.co.uk reports.

Meanwhile, as firms gear up to promote the service, BT is to begin offering customers a pre-pay Fusion deal, which enables those who spend more than £5 on their mobiles every month to make cheaper phone calls through their home Wi-Fi hub.

The BT Fusion service operates through dual-mode handsets capable of routing calls through Wi-Fi indoors and then switching to BT's mobile phone network when used indoors.

Customers using the Wi-Fi hubs can make a four-minute call for the price of a standard one-minute call made on a mobile.
