The Carphone Warehouse now has 2.6 million UK fixed-line broadband subscribers registered with AOL and TalkTalk, it has been announced.

In its interim management statement, which was published today, the company revealed that it has seen 118,000 net additions for both ISPs in the third quarter of trading, which comprised the 13 weeks up until December 29th 2007.

As well as an increase in subscribers, the phone group indicated that it has witnessed a 36 per cent growth in revenue to £349 million.

Charles Dunstone, chief executive officer of the Carphone Warehouse, said that the firm had enjoyed a positive third quarter across the group.

"We believe we are well positioned as a group, despite the uncertain consumer environment," he commented.

"This year, a significant proportion of profits will come from recurring revenue streams."

In the second quarter of 2007, the two ISPs added a total of 89,000 broadband customers.
