BT has today announced that it will give away a free Home Hub with its Option 1 package when customers sign up online.

The exclusive offer is available to customers signing up to the service until February 29th, costing £8.95 a month for the first six months and £17.99 a month thereafter.

The Home Hub - which usually costs an extra £30 - allows users access to BT Vision, the company's digital TV service.

For an additional £49.99, BT customers can use a Hub Phone with the Home Hub to make calls over the internet using Voice over Internet Protocol technology. Alternatively, users can also attach any touch-tone phone to the Home Hub to use the phone service.

BT's Home Hub offer comes ahead of an expected cut in its phone plan prices in April. The company recently announced that it will cut the cost of its unlimited evening and weekend call plans by 22 per cent to £2.70 a month.

Another package offering unlimited anytime minutes will also be cut by 25 per cent to £5.75 a month.
