Customers confused about technical jargon have been given practical advice on choosing the right broadband package.

Independent financial advisory service Every Investor has identified a number of key things consumers should look for when they are choosing new broadband products.

The first tip offered is to look at new broadband offers before deciding to continue with an existing package once the contract period has ended.

A better service could be obtained because the standard of packages can increase dramatically during 12 months.

The site reports that broadband in Britain is not only cheaper than it was four years ago, it is also 16 times faster on average.

However, despite improvements in speeds, it states that some internet service providers are still offering poor customer support and that this is something that consumers need to look out for.

This is Money offers similar advice, stating that regardless of how cheap a package seems, customers should always check how much they will be charged for calling technical support services.
