There is strong demand for high-speed broadband services in the UK, according to British internet users.
Such is the assertion of independent broadband resource ISP Review, commenting on the results of its monthly broadband poll.
In addition to being asked whether they thought there was demand for 20Mbps services, users of the site were also questioned as to whether they expected to upgrade to such connections when they become available.
Just under 80 per cent of those surveyed believed that there was demand for high-speed broadband services in the UK, while ten per cent responded negatively and a further ten per cent were unsure whether such demand existed.
"The result suggests that ISPs who fail to keep pace with the latest technologies risk being left behind as customers seek to migrate on to faster alternatives," said ISP Review.
Furthermore, just over half of the 1,000 people taking part said that they anticipated switching to 20Mbps services when they became available.
The results of last month's survey found that 32.8 per cent of people consumed more than 40GB of data each month.
