Residents in south Derbyshire have made their feelings known on the state of the broadband infrastructure in the area.

More than 100 complaints have been filed, with customers not happy with the service they are receiving from BT, reports the Burton Mail.

The news comes as South Derbyshire District Council undertake a review of broadband services after concerns were voiced by businesses.

According to the report: "The more case studies available means the more impact that can be had with BT on improving the broadband infrastructure. The broadband issue is being debated in central government."

Recent research has shown that the region with the fastest broadband in the UK is London with 4.5 Mbps, with Northern Ireland the slowest at 2.3 Mbps.

The study by thinkbroadband also found that Edinburgh is the city which boasts the fastest average broadband download speeds. Greater London was in second place.
