Users of Vodafone's mobile broadband service have expressed their dismay about lack of access and slow download speeds, reports suggest.

The Guardian notes that the company's online technical forum has seen a host of messages from users experiencing access problems with sites such as Facebook and Amazon.

A frequently reported fault relates to a Domain Name System (DNS) error which occurs when customers try to access the sites.

The company previously posted a guide on how to resolve the issue, although this was later rescinded after it emerged that this solution no longer worked.

"We completely understand how frustrating this is … if you are getting the DNS error could you send us an email?" urged one Vodafone administrator on the forum.

Rob Barnes, broadband manager of price comparison site moneysupermarket.com, told the paper that the group had requested dongles from all major mobile broadband providers in order to undertake testing, but as yet none have delivered.

Last month, the Register reported that some Orange mobile broadband customers had been left without access.
