An IPTV system has been implemented at the Grand Hotel Jersey in the Channel Islands, signalling what is set to be a growing trend in the hospitality industry.

The solution from Exterity and Hotel Broadband will enable music and videos to be viewed on demand by guests via their bedroom television sets.

Those staying at the hotel will enjoy terrestrial, Freeview and Sky channels as well as radio programming all supplied from a single satellite dish.

Colin Farquharson, Group Property Manager, Hilwood Resorts & Hotels, was keen to point out the plus points of having the IPTV system installed.

He commented: "The fact that the IPTV system can be managed remotely is a great bonus for hotels, as they do not need to worry about the day-to-day upkeep of the system, leaving them free to get on with the important task of running the hotel."
