A new support service set up by BT will help broadband subscribers on a range of issues.

The Home IT Support helpline is available to customers of BT, as well as contract holders with other broadband providers.

For a fee of £8.99 per month, users of the resource can expect assistance with all their "home gadgets", as well as hints and tips.

Organising files, installing operating systems and downloading music are among the services provided, with BT engineers on call to help install wireless broadband.

The faces of the promotional campaign attached to BT Home IT Support are Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie of 'How Clean is Your House?' TV fame.

"For those of you who need a helping hand, the BT Home IT Support team can literally 'clean up' all your technical problems, without you lifting a finger," Kim told Absolute Gadget.

She continued: "The fact that you can receive help over the phone, or through an engineer visit makes the service particularly special, and extremely flexible."
