Virgin Media news

Virgin Media has made an agreement with broadband outlet Carphone Warehouse, giving the provider extra in-store coverage.

After striking the deal, Virgin Media will have the pride of position in Carphone Warehouse's top retail spot in branches across the UK.

It is expected that Virgin Media will concentrate its efforts on advertising a fixed-line broadband 'super package', including a bundled laptop, broadband, phone and TV channels for £49.99 a month.

"This marks the beginning of a significant push into Carphone’s broadband category for us," Virgin Media sales director Rob Shardlow told Mobile Today.

He went on: "It's taken a lot of effort and a fair while to get here, but we're really excited about it."

The provider is hoping to capture another 300 to 400 contract holders as a result of the high-profile exposure.
