Be Broadband's new optimisation feature is set to be a massive hit with online gamers according to one expert.
Thomas Newton, who is a broadband specialist for UK-Web Media, has doubted the benefits the optimisation function will have for casual users, but says that Be Broadband's gamers will certainly be enamoured with the new option.
He suggested that the ability to counter game lag will make the setting a must for those who engage in internet combat.
"Broadband optimisation is significant mostly for gamers, who will want to get the most out of their connection," said Mr Newton.
Continuing: "In online multiplayer arenas, especially in first person shooters, the ability to customise connection settings so that game lag is less of a problem will be indispensable to avid game players."
Figures from ComScore show that there are around 217 million gamers worldwide.
