Mobile broadband news

Brits considering which mobile broadband deal to plump for should carefully consider the perks they are offered with different packages.

That is the advice given by Szu Ping Chan, the Motley Fool's expert on dongles, who says that each deal comes with its own plus points.

Ms Chan said that while 3's deal of £5 per month may be the cheapest on the market, those who have easy access to wireless on the move could be interested in T-Mobile's offer.

She said: "T-Mobile includes free Hotspot access with all its mobile broadband plans.

"This allows you to connect your laptop wirelessly to the internet in handy locations such as airports and your local Starbucks without the need for a dongle – a useful alternative where 3G is not available."

Figures from Ofcom published in August show that two million Brits say they have used mobile broadband.
