The Link has launched a number of mobile broadband bundles in time for Christmas.

Customers who take out an 18-month Broadband Plus tariff 250 mobile broadband contract with 3 will receive an Acer laptop built with HD Blu-ray for free.

Those opting for 3's Broadband Plus 200 package will also receive an Acer device - both deals come with a 5Gb data allowance.

According to the retailer: "Both come with 5Gb of data a month, so even if you're an iPlayer iLover you'll be hard pressed to go over the limit."

The move follows Carphone Warehouse's decision to include a mobile broadband subscription and laptop in its packages for the new Nokia 5310 handset.

As the phone does not have 3G capabilities of its own, users will have the option of downloading music onto their laptop before transferring the files to the 5310.
