Virgin Media news

Virgin Media has released images of its new-look modem which will be provided to users enjoying a new 50Mb broadband service.

The broadband company is upgrading parts of its 20Mb network with a super-fast 50Mb offering set to be available before the end of this year.

Despite the impending launch of the improved service, no date has been set for its arrival, with the locations able to benefit from the upgrade unknown as of yet.

But technology news providers have managed to get their hands on photographs of the new modem which Virgin Media has released, coinciding with the 50Mb development.

According to Gadget Spy, the new device is a "glossy black DSL cable modem to replace the plastic blue one most of us have hidden away".

It was recently announced that Virgin Media now boasts over 3.88 million customers in the UK.
