Be Broadband has decided to embrace the government's recent reduction of VAT, reducing its prices by even more than the 2.5 per cent cut.

The provider will slash 50p off the price of all monthly subscriptions meaning the Be Value Regular package is taken down to £13.50 from £14, Be unlimited to £17.50 from £18 and Be Pro to £21.50 from £22.

Customers are reminded by Be Broadband that the reductions will not count towards existing discounted offers and special deals.

Felix Geyr, managing director of Be Broadband, said "We had the option of following the governments 2.5 per cent reduction in VAT, but we decided give a little extra to our members and round the price drop to 50p.

Concluding: "We chose to give a better deal to our customers, which is more in line with Be's way of thinking."
