Avanti has launched a satellite service for companies that experience broadband outages.

The offering provides a failsafe method of getting online should a black-out occur, meaning firms do not lose out on valuable custom.

Using the £50 per month package, important data can also be backed up when a broadband connection stops working.

According to Avanti, the Business Internet Connectivity (BIC) product immediately switches to a satellite connection once a "terrestrial" line has failed.

Chief Executive David Williams said at the launch: "Avanti is the only company in the world that can provide a truly diverse and instantaneous satellite back up facility to an internet circuit at an affordable cost."

Firms are presently suffering from a loss of connection twice a year on average according to Avanti.
