Virgin Media IPTV customers will soon be able to access a range of sporting highlights and replays after the provider tied up a new deal.

Setanta Replay is the result of the UK broadband supplier's agreement with Setanta Sports, allowing sport coverage, including recorded Premier League games, to be broadcast to subscribers after events have finished.

The on-demand coverage, also featuring England World Cup qualifiers and FA Cup games, will be available at no extra cost to those who hold an XL package contract.

"We're always looking at new ways of bringing compelling sports content to our customers, across TV, on demand and online," commented Malcolm Wall, Virgin Media's chief executive of content.

He added: "Setanta Replay is a great way to watch the game when you want, how you want and, by continuing to add such great content, we'll further drive uptake of on demand and keep changing the way people watch TV."

Those signed up to the M and L deals can pay £7 per month to access the content.
