Zen Internet has been named as Best Broadband ISP for 2008 by ISPreview.

The provider was praised for the low number of complaints that its relatively small customer base had to make.

ISPreview conceded that despite the broadband supplier's high marks for quality of service, its pricing plans could not compete with many rivals.

Subscribers can expect to pay nearly £25 per month for 8Mb broadband with a monthly data allowance of 25GB when signed up with Zen.

"Zen are perhaps one of the longest standing and most well recognised of small and medium-sized ISPs, complete with a big back history of awards to their name," ISPreview said in a statement.

"They are also one of the highest reader rated ISPs on ISPreview and we have never known them to have any truly major problems."

Perks that Zen contract holders can expect to enjoy include flexible contracts, free web space up to 2GB, as well as "anti-virus filtering".
