The Ovation MC996D USB modem from Novatel has been launched at the Mobile World Congress, currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain.

According to the manufacturer, the device can connect to wireless networks in most places across the globe, offering download speeds of over 21Mb.

Other features include a multi-coloured LED service indicator, along with removable memory storage of up to 32GB, making the product a two-in-one wireless and memory stick.

Peter Leparulo, chairman and chief executive of Novatel Wireless, commented: "Novatel Wireless is dedicated to the latest emerging technologies to support the continuous evolution of wireless broadband network technology.

"Our HSPA+ product line with the MC996D represents our efforts to continuously develop the fastest and most reliable wireless data devices for our customers."

The 900MHz and 2100MHz frequency bands are supported by the MC996D, which comes with an easy-to-use auto install connection manager.
