Companies will have access to a greater depth of market coverage via online video as Thomson Reuters launches a new service.
The international news agency has set out plans for a subscription-based offering, with on-demand market analysis coupled with breaking news.
Viewers will be able to develop their own personalised channels, ensuring that only relevant news coverage is delivered.
Writing in the Press Gazette, Thomson Reuters global head of multimedia, Chris Cramer, explained: "We believe Reuters Insider is the future of news dissemination - delivering focused, fast, intelligent and relevant information to make our clients and customers smarter and more successful.
He added that the new service would be "not broadcasting, but narrowcasting".
Rather than compete with the leading newscasters, reports suggest that Reuters hopes to provide more niche coverage.
