The release of Wireless Manager 2.0 has been announced by Motorola this week.

Unveiled yesterday (May 20th), it is a next-generation network management tool that has a map-based user interface and offers "unified management capabilities".

Wireless Manager 2.0 allows managers to use a single console to view their entire wireless network.

It provides a "centralised point of control for indoor and outdoor wireless broadband networks" and offers real-time visibility as a result of "highly advanced network visualisations on an embedded Google map".

Commenting on its release, Phil Bolt of Motorola said: "Today the benefits of adopting indoor and outdoor wireless broadband networks are growing more and more compelling but advanced and robust tools are needed to tackle the complexity of designing and installing these networks."

Wireless Manager 2.0 is part of Motorola's One Point Wireless Suite, which is designed to help with the management of wireless LAN networks.

It can also be used to design, deploy and manage wireless broadband that is based either indoors or outdoors.
