People visiting the new SkyTeam lounge at Heathrow's Terminal 4 (T4) will be able to take advantage of free wireless (Wi-Fi) broadband access via BT Openzone.
The broadband provider will extend coverage to the site for at least the next three years in the form of a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Francesca Freeland, lead for SkyTeam Heathrow Airport, said: "The premium lounge was designed to offer customers a superior experience that meets their individual needs and with complimentary Wi-Fi internet access, passengers can stay connected while awaiting departure."
The global airline alliance opened up the first level of its Heathrow lounge at the beginning of June 2008 and the Wi-Fi broadband service will now allow business passengers to continue working and accessing the internet while they wait for flights.
Eligible passengers for the T4 lounge include those travelling with Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Kenya Airways.
Recently, BT Openzone announced plans to roll out Wi-Fi hotspots at more than 650 Starbucks coffee shops across the UK and Ireland.
The first stores equipped with wireless broadband coverage from BT are expected to offer the service to consumers by the end of summer.
