A trial of a new super-fast fibre optic broadband service is being conducted in two UK locations by TalkTalk.
The internet service provider is running the test in London and Cardiff, enabling residents to access speeds of up to 40Mb.
Should the trial prove to be a success then TalkTalk intends to make its fibre optic broadband available to all of its UK customers.
Residents who are able to take part in the venture will be sent a new router and modem.
It will run from this month until January 2010 and for its duration participants will be given their Essentials phone and broadband package for free, as well as unlimited downloads.
Currently, TalkTalk is in the process of upgrading its networks in order to provide faster broadband for its users in the UK.
