BT's new Broadband Accelerator represents a good business opportunity for resellers during the economic downturn.

DMSL has asserted that the new iPlate, which could help boost broadband speeds to 20Mb, could allow companies to make new, interesting offerings to their customers.

As reported by Comms Dealer Online, John Carter, Managing Director of the BT broadband distributor, said that this is especially true because BT is offering the service for no additional costs, just postage and packaging.

He commented: "The 20Mb upgrade gives resellers the opportunity to re-engage with customers and offer them other value-added services, such as BT voice plans, backup, business contingency and hosted applications.

"We've had a lot of success in helping resellers drive sales these areas and we think there is much more potential."

The BT Broadband Accelerator was launched on Monday (August 17th) and is a speed booster pack with a retail value of £15.
