People living in Jersey could benefit from high-speed broadband at cheaper prices in the future.
Broadband provider Sure has announced it is reviewing its pricing structure, despite the firm currently offering an 8Mb connection for £19.99 per month, reports the Guernsey Press.
The company currently offers higher speed connections for businesses and home users, however it claims only companies have demanded the faster broadband to date.
Paul Taylor, marketing director for Sure, told the newspaper the firm was investing £2 million into its network to offer higher broadband speeds to consumers at reduced prices.
He added: "We will be reviewing our offering and consulting with other operators in the island, as we are legally required to do, and I expect that we will be able to make further announcements on our residential broadband services within a matter of months."
The recent data published in the National Statistics Omnibus Survey found that 16.5 million UK households have broadband packages, a figure which was up 1.5 million year-on-year.
