O2 is offering three months free home broadband, as competition for new customers continues to heat up in the UK telecoms sector.
The promotion applies to all new customers who sign up online for the broadband provider’s Standard, Premium and Pro deals. Savings available stand at £37 with the Standard package for those who do not take their mobile phone services from O2 and £23 per month for existing O2 phone customers.
Meanwhile, the Premium deal offers savings of £44 for non-mobile customers and £29 otherwise. Finally, savings with the Pro package are £66 for those entirely new to O2 and £51 per month for mobile customers.
The Standard offering entitles customers to a broadband connection speed of up to 8Mb, as well as a free wireless router, McAfee security software and 100 free web texts per month.
Designed for heavier users, the Premium and Pro products both feature a headline broadband speed of up to 20Mb. Premium customers get McAfee security software for up to three computers and 200 free web texts per month, while Pro subscribers get the benefit of McAfee security for five computers, 500 free web texts and a dedicated customer service number.
Previously, O2 had been offering two months free broadband, but is thought to have improved the terms of the broadband deals to head off challenges from rival broadband suppliers.
Jessica McArdle, marketing manager at Top 10 Broadband, said: “O2’s offer of three months free broadband is a great deal and one that we’d strongly advise anyone to consider.
“With savings of up to £66 available, it seems that three really is the magic number.”
As well as ADSL broadband, O2 also offers mobile broadband dongles for surfing the internet while on the move, as well as very keenly priced broadband laptop contract deals.
