Leading broadband provider Orange has announced plans to promote its mobile 3G network through a new major promotional push.

Expected to cost around £4 million, the campaign will be designed to raise awareness of the technology across the next couple of months.

It is hoped the promotions will speak directly to readers by highlighting how they are probably covered by the network, which stretches across around 93 per cent of the UK population.

Orange UK's Brand Director Spencer McHugh said the campaign was designed to have "a fresh and fun appeal" and will include several different versions of adverts.

He added: "At Orange we're proud of our network and we wanted to remind customers about this great reason to be on Orange."

News of the marketing push has come after the company also announced it is now offering speeds of up to 20Mbps as standard via its home broadband network.
