Broadband provider Virgin Media has announced the launch of a new high-speed 7.2Mb dongle.

Doubling the capability of its successful 3.6Mb mobile broadband modem, the product is designed to allow internet browsing, email access and video streaming on the go.

The dongle is available with a range of contracts and data limits - consumers are able to sign either an 18-month fixed contract or on a monthly rolling basis.

Subscribers can also choose between a 1GB or 3GB data allowance per month.

Graeme Oxby, Executive Director of Mobile at Virgin Media, said the internet service provider was "thrilled" to be offering faster mobile broadband to its users.

He added: "If you're not at home or near a wireless connection, mobile broadband is the best way of staying connected.

"We're delighted to be making this a speedier, more pleasant experience for our customers."

Virgin Media has also launched a promotion offering the Disney Cinemagic channel for free to broadband TV bundle customers who subscribe to Sky Movies 1 and 2.
