High-speed broadband services are to be launched across Guernsey, according to reports.
ISPreview.co.uk has revealed that Cable & Wireless is upgrading networks across the island and residents can expect the speeds available to them to double in the near future.
The changes, which are the first undertaken by the firm in the area since 2008, will come into force from the start of May.
Paul Taylor, Marketing Director of Cable & Wireless Guernsey, told the website that the upgrades will lead the island towards "an era of faster speeds".
He added: "Our priority has been to deliver a quality broadband service, to the maximum number of people, over a strong, resilient network."
BT recently confirmed it has supplied super-fast broadband services in areas across the UK as part of its latest £1.5 million investment plans.
Areas including London, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Greater Manchester are benefitting from the upgraded network services.
