UK consumers have around ten days left to take advantage of Be Broadband's latest half-price deal, it has been reported.

According to ISPreview, the internet service provider is ending its current Be Value deal promotion at the end of next week.

Until then, customers signing up for the 8Mb broadband deal can gain a 40GB usage allowance for just £7.50 per month.

Upload speeds of 1.3Mb are also available on the broadband package, along with a free wireless router modem and free connection.

From April 27th, Be Value will return to its original price of £13.79, although the prospect of an unlimited usage allowance should help soften this blow.

Earlier this year, Be Broadband's Tom Williams expressed doubts over the viability of Google's proposed fibre-optic broadband network.

He claimed such a move, strongly rumoured in the US, could damage competition in the broadband provider market.
