Kcom has introduced faster broadband speeds for its business clients through its partnership with Actelis Networks.

The company is deploying advanced services designed to deliver speeds up to 8.5Mb over a single copper pair, thanks to the use of Actelis' patented EFMplus technology.

It is believed the systems allow Kcom to deliver increased broadband rates without threatening neighbouring services which run on the same network infrastructure.

Tony Reeve, Product Marketing Manager at Kcom, said the firm has boosted the speed of its legacy copper network "without any service disruption or additional prohibitive costs".

He added that the systems "provide a broader portfolio of services that will help our customers achieve their business objectives to compete and succeed in their marketplaces".

Kcom, which was formed out of a merger between Affiniti and Kingston Communications at the end of last year, offers a range of leading communication services and applications to businesses.
