Leading fibre-optic internet service provider Virgin Media has extended its latest broadband and home phone price promotion, it has been reported.

The firm will continue to offer three months' free to consumers signing up for its 10Mb L Broadband package until the end of May.

Subscribers also gain Virgin Media's M phone deal for free, allowing them to save £40 altogether.

Consumers now have over a month to decide whether to commit to the 12-month deal, which is priced at £12.50 per month after the initial discounted period.

The broadband deal offers unlimited usage - meaning consumers do not need to worry about their bandwidth use - plus upload speeds of 512Kb.

5GB free online storage space and a free wireless broadband router are other attractive features of the deal.

Earlier this week, Virgin Media took out an advert in the national print media to advertise its range of phone-free fixed broadband deals, which do not require the use of a home landline.
