Following hot on the heels of the UK iPad prices announced by Apple today, Orange have weighed in with their plans and pricing for the hotly-anticipated tablet device.

The mobile network will first roll out a website where consumers can pre-register for the 'micro-SIM' SIM cards that enable 3G connectivity on the iPad. Then beginning 10th May the microSIMs will be available through Orange retail stores, the Orange website and directly from Apple itself.

Orange also revealed they would be producing iPad apps, such as the popular Orange Wednesdays app for iPad customers.

Orange are offering several tariffs, based on daily, weekly, monthly or pay-as-you-go models:

Plan name Cost Usage allowance Access to WiFi hotspots
Pay for what you use 5p per MB n/a -
iPad Daily £2 per day 200MB -
iPad Weekly £7.50 per day 1GB -
iPad Monthly 15 £7.50 per month 3GB Yes
iPad Monthly 25 £25 per month 10GB Yes

Vodafone and O2, the other networks that announced they would carry the iPad, are expected to announce their plans shortly.
