Broadband provider BT has announced it has launched new super-fast internet services in Birmingham.
The Soho area of the city is one of the latest regions of the UK to benefit from the company's series of network upgrades, which are being carried out as part of £2.5 billion investment plans.
Speeds of up to 40Mb are available through the network, although this is set to rise to 60Mb in the near future.
John Dovey, BT's Regional Director for the West Midlands, said: "This is an exciting development in the region's fast-moving broadband story.
"Households and businesses switching to super-fast broadband will soon be experiencing the internet as they have never experienced it before."
Other areas that have recently benefitted from BT's fibre optic broadband investment plans include Bridgeton, Giffnock, Caerphilly and Barry.
Staff on the broadband provider's demonstration bus are also showcasing its services in Halifax this week.
