Consumers desiring access to Sky Sports 1 should do so via a BT broadband bundle, the internet service provider (ISP) has claimed.

According to a new BT ad in the Metro, the firm can offer Sky's subscription sports coverage for "the lowest price around".

The ISP noted that the Sky Sports 1 – home to the top Premier League football fixtures and Test cricket – is available for just £6.99 per month with selected BT TV, calls and broadband packages.

Regarding its offering of top flight football action, BT stated: "The beautiful game deserves a beautiful price."

Consumers can also bolt Sky Sports 2 onto their broadband deal for an additional £5 per month, enabling them to watch an even greater range of premium sports coverage.

Earlier this week, BT claimed that its sports bundles enable consumers to save up to £346 per year on Virgin Media's equivalent offering.
