A high definition (HD) version of Five is now available to Virgin Media's broadband TV subscribers, it has been announced.

Five HD is available to the company's 3.7 million TV customers for no extra monthly charge and takes the number of HD channels available to them up to 13.

The channel shows popular soaps including Neighbours alongside top US dramas such as Grey's Anatomy, The Mentalist, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and coverage of Europa League football.

Cindy Rose, Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media, said: "Our customers will now be able to enjoy the HD channels of every national terrestrial broadcaster as well as a rapidly growing roster from other broadcasters so we're delighted to give our customers Five in HD."

The addition of Five HD to Virgin Media's TV services has come after the broadband provider confirmed it has completed the sale of its portfolio of channels to Sky.
