UKFast has held on to its place as one of the top five fastest growing companies in the north-west of England.

The internet service provider (ISP) has retained its spot in the top 50 of the Sunday Times Tech Track 100, which recognises the UK's top-performing private companies and entrepreneurs.

According to the news provider, UKFast saw sales increase by 53 per cent between 2006 and 2009, with turnover increasing to £9.1 million.

Managing Director Lawrence Jones said the ISP had been focusing on grass roots development over the last year.

"To maintain our growth simultaneously sends a strong message about the quality of our people," he commented.

"As our new ventures - UKFast Green and MySort - gain pace, I expect to see accelerated results that will boost us up the list in 2011."

UKFast was recently shortlisted as a finalist in the MEN Business of the Year Awards, highlighting its growing profile within the north-west of England.
