Plusnet news

Internet service provider (ISP) Plusnet has pledged to offer the cheapest standalone broadband services in the UK.

At present, the broadband provider's entry-level Plusnet Value deal is priced at £6.49 per month for customers living in the firm's low-cost areas.

For this, subscribers receive up to 20Mb download speeds, a 10GB monthly usage allowance and a free wireless broadband router, plus 24/7 customer support and McAfee internet security.

Plusnet said the majority of consumers will not find a cheaper price for standalone broadband, but has pledged that if they can, the ISP will beat their rival's offer.

The firm is urging consumers to use its postcode checker tool to see how Plusnet compares to other ISPs in their area.

"If you do find a lower price for standalone broadband just give us a call on 0845 140 0200 and we'll beat it," Plusnet stated.
