Plusnet news

Internet service provider (ISP) Plusnet has turned to an English cricketing legend to help promote its latest broadband deals.

The Sheffield-based broadband provider, which has this year rolled its services out nationwide, called on former Yorkshire fast bowler Darren Gough to meet potential customers in Sheffield at the weekend.

Ashes veteran 'Goughie', who hails from nearby Barnsley, spent all Saturday (November 27th) with the giant Plusnet terrier at Barkers' Pool, Sheffield.

Every consumer visiting Plusnet's open-air stand was treated to a fresh cup of tea, helping to warm the cockles on what was a freezing day in South Yorkshire.

Plusnet, which last month launched its price-beat promise for standalone broadband, organised the promotion to demonstrate the importance of great value to UK consumers.

Since last month, the ISP has been offering customised, market-leading quotes to any consumers able to find a lower price for standalone broadband in their area.

Charging just £6.49 per month, Plusnet claims to offer the cheapest internet-only services in the UK market.
