Virgin Media news

Virgin Media has signed a new deal with Persimmon Homes which will see many new-build houses equipped with next-generation broadband.

The internet service provider (ISP) will offer built-in access to its fibre optic broadband, TV, and telephone services in Persimmon homes constructed within its cabled areas.

As a result, homebuyers will have the option of activating Virgin Media broadband bundles from the moment they move in.

Steve Carlin, Virgin Media's Director of Sales for New Build, said the ISP's Media's partnership with Persimmon Homes "can take a little bit of the stress out of setting up home".

"We all want to be able to watch, share and access our entertainment at home and Virgin Media's services really help customers to make the most of their technology," he added.

This month will see Virgin Media launch its new 100Mb fibre-optic broadband network, which will offer households access to download speeds more than 20 times the national average.
