Eclipse Internet is providing a download speed boost to its broadband deal subscribers, offering a minimum of 12Mb across the UK during peak hours.

The broadband provider said households will normally receive much higher speeds, with its network capable of up to 35Mb downloads.

Eclipse has also upgraded the usage allowances on its broadband packages, doubling the amount of data consumers can use during peak hours.

Subscribers can also benefit from unlimited usage between 23:00 and 09:00 GMT.

Clodagh Murphy, Director of Eclipse Internet, said the revamp marked the continuation of the internet service provider's next-generation fibre offering.

"The new assured throughput speed of 12Mb will enable businesses to benefit from increased connection speeds and services when streaming applications such as VPN, video conferencing and VoIP."

Based in Exeter, Eclipse operates as an independent subsidiary of the KOM Group.
