TalkTalk's new IPTV service will utilise Technicolor's new MediaNavi service, it has been announced.

The cloud-based, multi-screen content service is designed to help consumers navigate programme options quickly and easily once the YouView service is up and running.

Scheduled to launch in mid-2011, YouView – the initiative formerly referred to as Project Canvas – will see consumers delivered broadband TV services through a set-top box.

Max Alexander, Director of TalkTalk TV, commented: "We are very pleased to be working with Technicolor on the next generation of multi-screen, personalised video solutions.

"With Technicolor's MediaNavi, we are looking at new ways to provide a consistent approach across multiple devices and to be able to offer our customers a truly premiere user interface within a touch screen tablet device."

Meanwhile, TalkTalk has launched a new broadband deal providing six months' half-price broadband services to new subscribers.
